Cancer Survivors, Caregivers Rally at State Capitol for Improved Prevention

Nearly ninety cancer survivors, caregivers and advocates from across the state traveled to the Missouri State Capitol today to call on the General Assembly to make cancer a top legislative priority. Coaches from four state colleges joined volunteers in representation of the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative, a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Cancer Advocates Celebrate Bill to Improve Quality of Life

Today, the Kansas Legislature passed a bill to improve quality of life for patients with serious, long-term illnesses through expanded access to palliative care. New Legislation Aims to Reduce Youth Smoking Initiation

Fewer young people in Illinois would start smoking under a proposal to raise the minimum age of tobacco sales from 18 to 21 years old. State Sen. Julie Morrison (D-Deerfield) and State Rep. Camille Lilly (D-Oak Park) introduced the legislation in Springfield today with the support of public health groups and community organizations.
