Support Funding for Tobacco Control Programs

In Pennsylvania, an estimated 22,000 deaths are caused by smoking each year.

The evidence is clear:

  • Statewide tobacco control programs reduce tobacco use rates, as well as tobacco-related disease and death.
  • The more states spend on comprehensive tobacco control programs, the greater the drop in use.
  • The longer states invest in these programs, the greater and quicker the impact.

Maintain funding for Pennsylvania’s tobacco prevention and cessation programs to prevent kids from using tobacco and help adults quit.
