Protect and Improve Access to Quality, Affordable Healthcare
Our country can never return to a time when cancer patients and survivors were denied health insurance due to a pre-existing condition, had limits placed on their care, or were unable to afford the care that could save their lives.
- More adults in America are insured today than in 2010, but over 27 million are still uninsured and struggling to afford health care.
- Uninsured people are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer at more advanced stages, when treatment is more expensive and patients are more likely to die from the disease.
- Recent government regulations have promoted the expansion of health plans that can deny coverage for pre-existing conditions like cancer and do not offer the kind of coverage sick people need.
I'm asking all the Presidential candidates to tell us how they will ensure people with serious illnesses like cancer have access to quality, affordable healthcare.
