Make Palliative Care Better in South Dakota
Ask your lawmakers to improve quality of life for cancer patients
Palliative care improves the quality of life for cancer patients and their families by treating the person as well as the disease, at any age and any stage in treatment.
Unfortunately, there are barriers to access in South Dakota when it comes to palliative care:
- A limited understanding about palliative care among providers and patients
- Uneven access to palliative care across South Dakota, and
- A shortage of medical staff trained to provide palliative care.
Ask South Dakota lawmakers to create a state advisory committee on palliative care to improve access to this kind of care.
Thank you for signing our petition to improve palliative care for the people most affected by serious illnesses such as cancer. We will deliver your petition to your state lawmakers during the 2018 state legislative session.
