Don't let tobacco companies interfere with U.S. tobacco regulations!

This year, tobacco will kill more than six million people globally.

The evidence is clear:

  • The tobacco industry is using international trade agreements to challenge laws that help reduce smoking and prevent children from starting to smoke.
  • They have sued countries around the world for adopting large warning labels, plain packaging and other tobacco control efforts. They could come after U.S. laws next.

I call on Congress to insist that international trade agreements preserve the rights of foreign countries to regulate tobacco products.
