Congress: Put the Power of the Purse behind funding cancer research and prevention
This year, nearly 300,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
The evidence is clear:
Breast cancer research leads to medical breakthroughs that saves lives.
Breast cancer prevention and early detection programs help find breast cancer at its earliest, most treatable stages, reducing pain and suffering.
I call on Congress to use its Power of the Purse to support a $1 billion increase in funding for cancer research and increase funding for breast cancer prevention programs.
