Congress: Put the Power of the Purse behind funding cancer research and prevention

This year, nearly 300,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.

The evidence is clear:

  • Breast cancer research leads to medical breakthroughs that saves lives.

  • Breast cancer prevention and early detection programs help find breast cancer at its earliest, most treatable stages, reducing pain and suffering.

I call on Congress to use its Power of the Purse to support a $1 billion increase in funding for cancer research and increase funding for breast cancer prevention programs.
