Ask Atlanta's mayoral candidates to commit to these three lifesaving tobacco policies

We must ensure the candidates for mayor understand the role they can play in eliminating the health disparities that lead to people of color having far higher death rates from cancer.

I'm calling on Atlanta’s next mayor to:

  • Protect our smoke-free law, so that no one has to choose between their health and their job.
  • End the sale of menthol cigarettes and all other flavored tobacco products. Tobacco companies have a long history of aggressively marketing these products to Black communities, and their  predatory practices must end.
  • Move enforcement of tobacco laws to a department other than the police, and focus on holding businesses accountable for any violations, rather than private citizens.

It's time to save more lives in Atlanta.
