Robert E. Youle is a member of Sherman & Howard, LLC in the firm’s Denver, Colorado office, and has practiced complex commercial litigation since 1976. Rob is a frequent lecturer on antitrust and commercial litigation issues and has served as adjunct professor of antitrust law at the University of Denver College of Law.
Throughout his professional career, Rob has earned honors and awards for his legal work, including being listed in Best Lawyers in America from 1995 through 2018; being named one of Denver's best commercial litigation lawyers in 5280 Magazine; and being listed in Colorado Superlawyers every year since its inception. Rob is a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Iowa Law School Foundation, a member of the Executive Committee of the Board and Chairs the Foundation's Development Committee. In 2009, Rob received the University of Iowa College of Law's Distinguished Alumni Service Award, the first such award the College had ever given.
Rob has volunteered for the American Cancer Society for thirty years and was awarded the St. George medal in 1998. He has held leadership positions at every level of the organization, including service as board chair of the American Cancer Society, Inc. and the former Colorado, Rocky Mountain and Great West Divisions.
Rob previously served as a member of the ACS CAN Board of Directors from 2005 2012, during which time he served as Secretary, Treasurer, and Chair of the Board. In 2012, Rob was awarded the Volunteer Award for Excellence in Advocacy for his contributions to ACS CAN. He was re-elected to the Board of ACS CAN in January 2015.
Rob is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law (J.D. 1976) and the University of Illinois (B.S. 1973).
