Rick Q. Ngo, MD, FACS has served on the ACS CAN Board of Directors since 2013, serves on the ACS South Regional Cabinet, and is chair of the Greater Houston East Texas Area Board. He previously served on the American Cancer Society's former High Plains Division Board. He has been an advocacy volunteer for many years, including having served as the ACT! Lead for the 7th Congressional District of Texas and representing ACS CAN at the One Voice Against Cancer Coalition Lobby Day. In addition to his work with the Society and ACS CAN, Dr. Ngo currently serves on the Boards of Directors for CanCare and YMCA Greater Houston.
Dr. Ngo is a General Surgeon with Southwest Surgical Associates, LLP in Houston, Texas, focusing on minimally invasive hernia, gastrointestinal and breast disease surgery. He received his B.A. in Sociology from Rice University and medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine - San Antonio. Dr. Ngo completed his General Surgery Residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston.
Dr. Ngo resides in Houston with his wife Nicole and their three children.
