Welcome!

Please join the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) for our 13th annual National Forum on the Future of Health Care on May 9th at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington D.C.

Please click Register Now to join us in-person or virtually.

As part of ACS CAN’s on-going commitment to making cancer care affordable for everyone the 2024 conference will focus on alleviating the burden of medical debt many cancer patients, survivors and their families face. In a recent national survey 54% of those surveyed who had cancer also had medical debt, which caused many respondents to delay or skip medical care. The accumulation of medical debt not only made the cancer diagnosis more challenging it also resulted in mental health challenges.

The pervasive problem of medical debt – even for those with health insurance coverage - requires multi-faceted solutions. Forum participants will hear first-hand from cancer patients and their families what they need to address this issue. Issue experts will also examine public policy and private sector options for preventing medical debt, minimizing the impact of debt once it is incurred, and industry best practices.
